Thoughts to PonderWe are in information overload! We are bombarded with information.And still many of us falter. Why? Most of us have the sense, by now, to realize that we are NOT going to make a million in two months. But it is amazing how many emails I get that promise me just that. The opposite side of the fence takes a different tact. They promise me thousands if I work my buns off day after day and follow their instructions to the letter. Then we hear how the Internet is changing daily and how we need to do this or that to keep up. Yes it is changing, I don't dispute that. But people are people and they remain basically the same. "Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door." We have all heard that many times. What I want to know is, how come we all use the same old mousetrap? It's been around since somebody figured out how to make a wire spring, so why don't the new and improved traps get the market share? Could it be that some things are just plain good the way they are? That some things continue to work, over and over again? People are people. They want to provide for their loved ones, live comfortable lives, build wealth, and most are willing to work for those goals. Is a "Two Family Income" really a good thing? Years ago I watched a TV program that concerned a two income family. The husband made $40,000 and his wife made $30,000 and they were in dire financial straits! Since this was in the 1980s, I was fascinated to see how they worked this out. My family income was nowhere near $70,000! Here is what I found. First of all, the wife's expenses included a second car, car insurance, business clothing, dry cleaning bills, lunches, daycare, and the gasoline to commute. Not to mention "short cut" meals like ready cooked meats, etc., that allowed her to fix a nice dinner quickly when her family came home. Add that to the higher tax bracket and I was shocked to see that it actually COST her more money to work than she made! No wonder they were hurting! No wonder more women are heading for their PCs to work! Now compare that to working from home. No childcare expenses, no expensive clothing or dry cleaning, no gas to commute, not even the necessity for a second car. If you have a second car, which most of us do, at least your insurance goes down as you don't have the commute! And gas savings are tremendous, especially now with gas prices so high. No lunches out, and a lower tax bracket because even with the same income, you have deductibles like home office expenses and website fees. It makes a HUGE difference! Find out what does and doesn't work, for YOUR business and YOUR lifestyle. One of the things that works over and over is the way people relate to each other. They all want courtesy, respect, decency, and honesty from each other. Don't tell me lies about how much money I can make when you are not making any yourself, using the same methods you are trying to sell me. It is dishonest. Be upfront about the ways and means of how you are doing and show me how I can benefit too. You need to love whatever it is that you are selling, teaching, or promoting. How can one possibly pass on a sense of excitement if one does not feel it themselves? I am not into mechanics. Do you think I could successfully sell mechanical tools? Maybe, but it would be without enthusiasm. I am a decorator, gardener, designer, creative writer, faux painter, and lover of all things of beauty. How did I turn those loves and gifts into a profitable business? I read and studied and learned. I spent thousands of dollars, cried a lot, and learned some more. I had a profession, I just did not know how to make it go on the Net. Are you working to live, or living to work? Think about it. If you love what you do, it really is not work. You then enter into a wonderful place of enjoying yourself, while earning your living. Whether it is MLMs, party plans, online storefronts, or whatever you love, you have found your calling. Now, how do you get your terrific talents seen worldwide? Money cannot buy the top rankings in the search engines. Don't be fooled by claims of top 10 rankings for x amount of dollars. But there are ways to get top rankings that you can do yourself. For free! Above are some of the best tools that taught me the right way to do things. Free downloads, products well worth purchasing, tools to make your journey towards success much, much easier. I was told my business is not one that could work on the net. Wrong! It is working and growing and making me very happy. YOU CAN DO IT!! |
